PRODUCT QUESTIONS

Absolutely! In fact it’s one of the most popular uses of our chocolates because the ingredients are the healthiest around!

The majority of our ingredients are organic, except salts and essential oils. We carefully source our essential oils from specialized manufacturers who give us a quality guarantee and for those rare flavors we have decided to continue using them.

Our Drinking Chocolate mixes, Protein Powders and Snack bars are suitable for vegan. Our chocolate bars are sweetened with locally sourced honey.

We have been asked this question so many times that we wrote a blog post on this subject. The short answer is that yes, we are tested, and unlike most other chocolates on the market, ours are found to have safe levels of heavy metals.

Our products contain almonds and coconut. Besides these, there are no nuts in the kitchen. While we thoroughly clean our equipment between each batch, if you are allergic, we’d request you to steer clear.

These are made in our own commercial kitchen space located in Union City, NJ.

We are deeply committed to fair-trade, transparent and ethical sourcing. Our cacao is sourced from small farms and co-ops in Ecuador. Our honey comes from a local apiary in central New Jersey. Rest of the ingredients are sourced from the best possible sources. Lavender comes from south of France, turmeric comes from India, sea salt comes from Greece and so on.

Yes, we only use edible essential oils.

Half a bar contains about 5 grams of sugar. The sugar comes from honey. We don’t use any refined or cane sugars/stevia/erythritol or other processed sweeteners.

Our products do not require any refrigeration. Please store them in a dry cool place at room temperature.

We make some of the best chocolates around with very pure ingredients and no preservatives. We do microbatch production to ensure that we are shipping out the freshest chocolates for every order. Truffle boxes are made on order and do not have any plastic or foil in the packaging. Chocolate Bars have a shelf life of 8 months. Drinking Chocolate mixes have a shelf life of 18 months. Protein Powders have a shelf life of 18 months. Snack bars have a shelf life of 9 months. Truffle boxes have a shelf life of 2 months.

Never! Ayurveda recommends not heating honey ever. Our entire manufacturing process uses no flame or concentrated heat. Our honey is gently warmed overnight below 104F in a water jacketed vessel.

Our cacao is unroasted. We never expose it to high temperatures. A natural fermentation process does occur in the open though.

GIFTING

Yes you can specify during the checkout process. Can’t find it? No worries. Just drop us a note on care@elementstruffles.com with the order number and your gift note. We’ll take care of it right away.

You received a gift that you do not like. It happens and we will try our best to help you. First refer to the guidance under 'What is your return/refund policy?' before returning any items to us.  

If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received in original condition, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.

If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give it to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver directly. You will need to reach out to them directly.

SHIPPING & RETURNS

Generally we ship it within 1-2 business days. If you place an order on Friday, we’ll ship it following Monday to avoid the packages sitting on a tarmac with carriers.

Yes, and we have become pretty good at it too! Your products are shipped by 2-Day Fedex or 1-Day UPS/Fedex depending on how far you are from us and how hot it is where you are. All our shipments come with thermal insulation and ice-packs.

If you are trying us out and not happy with your purchase we will gladly work with you to resolve any issue.

Please email us your refund request at care@elementstruffles.com and include your order number and images of the products if needed.

As our products are perishables few restrictions apply:

  • Only regular priced items may be refunded. Items in sale, promotions, sample offers and/or discounted items are not eligible for refund.
  • Only your first order is qualified for the refund.
  • Ship us back the unopened products at your cost within 30 days of receiving your order. We cannot accept opened or partially consumed products.
  • Upon receiving the order back we will connect with you and let you know what we are able to accept and refund for. We will refund you for the items that are received back and not for the original order.
  • You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund. 
  • If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

If your refund request is approved, refunds will be processed within 5-7 working days and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment.

If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account or credit card statement again as it may take some time before your refund is officially posted. 

If you’ve done all of these and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at care@elementstruffles.com.

Please email us at care@elementstruffles.com at the earliest with your order number and the images of the products. Let us know what went wrong and we will work with you to make it right.

We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, email at care@elementstruffles.com and send your item to :

Do not send any items back without emailing us.

We take various precautions especially during summer months. But if for some reason your chocolates have arrived melted then we will work with you to resolve this. Email us at care@elementstruffles.com with the order number and images.

In most cases, we try our hardest to meet your deadline but reaching out to us is always the best way to know if the order can be delivered as per your expectations. 

Email us at care@elementstruffles.com (with order number if applicable) and we will let you know of the shipping time frame.

Once we send out an order from our warehouse we rely on courier service providers (FedEx, UPS and USPS) to safely deliver the shipment to you. If your order is missing please reach out to your local driver. In our experience many times the packages are just misplaced and can be tracked with the help of local drivers.

ORDERING ISSUES

Please check the code and its validity before trying. If unsure of the validity or any other issue with your discount code email us at care@elementstruffles.com with your most recent order number (if applicable).

Unfortunately you will be able to use one discount code only once in your account even if you end up returning that order.
